    Rotary Club of St. Catharines and Algoma Central Golf Tournament benefits Niagara Children's Centre with a donation of $25,000.

    The Rotary Club of St. Catharines and Algoma Central Corp. continues their longstanding support of Niagara Children's Centre through the Algoma-Rotary Golf Tournament. The proceeds of the tournament, which totalled $25,000, were presented to the Centre at an offsite Rotary meeting at Niagara Children’s Centre on June 22.   Attendees of the June 22 Rotary Club of St. Catharines and Algoma Central Corp. meeting were overwhelmed with the personal story of Sarah Pot whose daughters received a broad range of therapies and support from the Centre and the Centre’s School.   The Centre has been privileged to receive a cumulative…

    Sir Winston students walking for Niagara Children’s Centre

    The third annual Sir Winston Churchill (SWC) took place on April 26, 2017. Sir Winston Churchill’s “We’re walking so others can too!” fundraiser is a student-led event developed to raise funds in support of the Niagara Children’s Centre.     Rotary Club of Welland donates a mechanical lift system to Niagara Children’s Centre

    Niagara Children’s Centre is proud to announce the installation of a new mechanical lift system for their Complex Needs and Physical Medicine clinic room. The total investment totalling over $5,100 came as a donation from the Rotary Club of Welland, who have been supporters of the Centre for over 50 years. With the recent expansion of Niagara Children’s Centre’s medical clinics, the Centre is seeing more clients who require a mechanical lift to transfer them from their wheelchair to an examining table.     Getting Kids on the Path to Cycling

      In December 2016, Niagara Children’s Centre held a Bike Clinic, which allowed families with a child interested in biking as a recreational activity to connect with a physiotherapist, recreation therapist and social worker to get them on the right path.  Bicycling is fun, and a great physical activity that promotes mobility and independence, while building balance, coordination, strength and endurance.
