    Niagara Children’s Centre Contributes to Professional Learning

      Niagara Children’s Centre staff were busy in November, helping to educate their peers in their areas of expertise.  From November 6-8 staff attended the Ontario Association of Children’s Rehabilitation Services (OACRS) annual conference in Toronto, and had the opportunity to participate in several ways.  The conference is an annual meeting place devoted to the field of childhood disability and pediatric rehabilitation, and this year’s theme was “Connecting – People, Purpose & Passion.” Dorothy Harvey, Niagara Children’s Centre’s Manager of Rehabilitation Services co-chaired the conference planning committee and also presented as a panellist at a session entitled “ Moving from…

    Meridian Credit Union Invests $30,000 To Launch Community Outreach Partnership

    Niagara Children’s Centre is proud to announce Meridian Credit Union as the Centre’s Community Outreach Partner for 2016-2018. The $30,000 investment over two years will focus on matching Centre children with opportunities for recreation and leisure activities within their home communities, and encouraging them to explore new activities. The goal of the partnership is to encourage Centre clients to be more active, and build skills while promoting inclusivity and fostering volunteerism.     Accreditation Survey Information

      Niagara Children’s Centre is accredited under CARF International. We will be undergoing our scheduled resurvey December 8 and 9, 2016.  What is accreditation? Accreditation is a process that demonstrates a provider has met standards for the quality of its services. CARF International established these standards to guide providers in offering their services and also uses the standards to evaluate how well a provider is serving people and how it can improve.   What is a survey?     2nd Annual Superhero Run Builds Momentum for Niagara Children’s Centre

      Niagara’s Superheroes were out in full force on Sunday, running and walking in support of Niagara Children’s Centre!  The 1K and 5K walk/run events, geared to both kids and those 'young at heart', raised funds to support Niagara Children’s Centre’s ongoing programming which supports over 3,200 children in Niagara every year. “The Superhero Run is fast becoming a highlight of the year for our families and donors.
