    Rotary Club of Welland donates a mechanical lift system to Niagara Children’s Centre

    Niagara Children’s Centre is proud to announce the installation of a new mechanical lift system for their Complex Needs and Physical Medicine clinic room. The total investment totalling over $5,100 came as a donation from the Rotary Club of Welland, who have been supporters of the Centre for over 50 years. With the recent expansion of Niagara Children’s Centre’s medical clinics, the Centre is seeing more clients who require a mechanical lift to transfer them from their wheelchair to an examining table.     Getting Kids on the Path to Cycling

      In December 2016, Niagara Children’s Centre held a Bike Clinic, which allowed families with a child interested in biking as a recreational activity to connect with a physiotherapist, recreation therapist and social worker to get them on the right path.  Bicycling is fun, and a great physical activity that promotes mobility and independence, while building balance, coordination, strength and endurance.     Niagara Children’s Centre Receives Exceptional Accreditation Results

      Niagara Children’s Centre has been recognized for excellence, in receiving a three-year accreditation award- the highest award possible.  The accreditation survey was conducted by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International in December and the award is the second three-year award for the Centre, building on the previous one completed in January 2014.   This accreditation is official recognition that the Centre is practicing according to internationally recognized service standards and best practices.  Accreditation from CARF International demonstrates the Centre’s commitment to family centred care and providing the best possible service and outcomes to our clients.  In…

    Niagara Children's Centre Launches 2017-2021 Strategic Plan

      Over the course of 2016, Niagara Children’s Centre undertook a strategic planning process to update the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Priorities of our organization.       Niagara Children’s Centre is pleased to welcome Marla Smith, as the newly appointed Director of Development. As of January 9, Marla has assumed the lead role in the development, coordination and delivery of all Centre fundraising activities.  Marla will combine her personal passion for children and commitment to our mission, with 9 years of professional fundraising experience.
