    Niagara Children's Centre Launches 2017-2021 Strategic Plan

      Over the course of 2016, Niagara Children’s Centre undertook a strategic planning process to update the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Priorities of our organization. We received feedback from the people who know the Centre best, analyzed our complex external and internal environments and built a framework to lead us through the next four years.  During the stakeholder engagement process, through interviews, surveys and focus groups, we gathered extensive input from families, employees and other key partners.  We landed on four new strategic directions, and updated our Vision and Mission to reflect what Niagara Children’s Centre stands for now…

    Niagara Children’s Centre welcomes new Director of Development Marla Smith

      Niagara Children’s Centre is pleased to welcome Marla Smith, as the newly appointed Director of Development. As of January 9, Marla has assumed the lead role in the development, coordination and delivery of all Centre fundraising activities.  Marla will combine her personal passion for children and commitment to our mission, with 9 years of professional fundraising experience. Previously, Marla worked with the United Way of St. Catharines & District, and the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. She has developed and worked on programs related to leadership giving, annual campaigns, major gifts, special events, third party events and corporate donors.  …

    Niagara Corvette Club Helps Families Requiring Home and Vehicle Mods

    Niagara Corvette Club continued their long-time support of Niagara Children's Centre with a donation to the Home and Vehicle Modification Program in December.  Over the past 43 years, the Club has donated over $400,000 to support the Centre. In recent years, they have focused on helping families to make their homes and vehicles accessible for their children.     Ontario Trillium Foundation Seed Grant Funds Launch of Niagara Children’s Centre Family Partnership Program

      On Wednesday, Niagara Children’s Centre held the the official launch of its Family Partnership Program, an initiative funded through a $47,000 Seed Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) made in late 2015.  Claude Dallaire, an OTF volunteer, was on hand for the launch and to congratulate the organization in the work done since receiving the grant and to hear more about what’s to come in future. “Niagara Children’s Centre plays a vital role in our community and provides invaluable care to families in need.     Niagara Children’s Centre Contributes to Professional Learning

      Niagara Children’s Centre staff were busy in November, helping to educate their peers in their areas of expertise.  From November 6-8 staff attended the Ontario Association of Children’s Rehabilitation Services (OACRS) annual conference in Toronto, and had the opportunity to participate in several ways.  The conference is an annual meeting place devoted to the field of childhood disability and pediatric rehabilitation, and this year’s theme was “Connecting – People, Purpose & Passion.” Dorothy Harvey, Niagara Children’s Centre’s Manager of Rehabilitation Services co-chaired the conference planning committee and also presented as a panellist at a session entitled “ Moving from…
