Jan. 30, 2017
Niagara Children’s Centre is pleased to welcome Marla Smith, as the newly appointed Director of Development. As of January 9, Marla has assumed the lead role in the development, coordination and delivery of all Centre fundraising activities.
Marla will combine her personal passion for children and commitment to our mission, with 9 years of professional fundraising experience. Previously, Marla worked with the United Way of St. Catharines & District, and the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. She has developed and worked on programs related to leadership giving, annual campaigns, major gifts, special events, third party events and corporate donors.
“I look forward to building strong relationships with donors, board members, families and staff that will enhance the Centre’s development activities and ensure every child and youth in Niagara has the chance to shine.” said Marla.
Oksana Fisher, CEO of Niagara Children’s Centre says, “We are thrilled to welcome Marla to our team. Marla’s fundraising experience and strong reputation in the Niagara Region will be beneficial in continuing to build the Centre’s fundraising program, and ultimately supporting the Centre in meeting the needs of children and families we serve.”
Marla replaces Cindy Mewhinney, the former Director of Development. We thank Cindy for her dedication to the Centre for the past two years in establishing our fundraising program and we wish her all the best in her new role.
