    Rotary Club of St. Catharines Receives the Dr. William J. Orr Tribute Award of Distinction

    Dr. Orr has a special place in Niagara Children’s Centre’s history. A retired local physician and the longest serving member of Rotary Club of St. Catharines, Dr. Orr was instrumental in establishing Niagara Children’s Centre. He unselfishly gave of himself, volunteering at clinics before the Centre was established, while relentlessly pursuing his dream of a Children’s Treatment Centre for Niagara, which was fulfilled in 1964.  Dr. Orr became the founding Chairman and the Centre’s first Medical Director.     Rotary Club of St. Catharines and Algoma Central Golf Tournament benefits Niagara Children's Centre with a donation of $25,000.

    The Rotary Club of St. Catharines and Algoma Central Corp. continues their longstanding support of Niagara Children's Centre through the Algoma-Rotary Golf Tournament. The proceeds of the tournament, which totalled $25,000, were presented to the Centre at an offsite Rotary meeting at Niagara Children’s Centre on June 22.   Attendees of the June 22 Rotary Club of St. Catharines and Algoma Central Corp. meeting were overwhelmed with the personal story of Sarah Pot whose daughters received a broad range of therapies and support from the Centre and the Centre’s School.   The Centre has been privileged to receive a cumulative…

    Lights, camera, action for Niagara Children's Centre Foster Festival Drama Club

    Niagara Children's Centre Foster Festival Drama Club sponsored by Meridian, Ontario’s largest credit union, held their final performance of ‘Class Two Goes to the Zoo’ on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017. The performance marked the completion of the Drama Club’s six-week program.  The Foster Festival Drama Club was established at Niagara Children’s Centre in 2016 and was specifically adapted for children with special needs making it the first of its kind in Niagara.     Help Kids Shine Campaign Raises Record-Breaking $135,974 for Niagara Children’s Centre!

    Thanks to your support, Help Kids Shine raised an incredible $135,974 for children right here in Niagara! This month-long awareness and fundraising campaign is run in  conjunction with Presenting Sponsor, Bell Media.  Bell Media dedicated the entire month of May to promoting the Centre on 610 CKTB, 97.7 HTZ-FM and 105.7 EZ Rock.  The Help Kids Shine Campaign featured 12 families from the Centre who chose to share their personal stories to help raise awareness and funds for the Centre.  Each of their stories is unique and are examples of the 3,300 children and families that are helped each year. …
