Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy

Who We Are

Occupational therapists (OTs) are health care professionals who help children learn or re-learn to manage the every day activities that are important to them.  Occupational therapists at Niagara Children’s Centre help children to develop the skills needed to participate as independently as possible in their daily routines through the use of therapeutic strategies and adapted activities.  Occupational Therapists work directly with children and their caregivers to improve their functional abilities to engage in:

  • Productivity (for example printing and play skills)
  • Self Care  (for example feeding, dressing and bathing)
  • Leisure activities (ways to have fun)

Occupational therapy is a regulated health care profession in Ontario.
