Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Niagara Children’s Centre. The Centre volunteers add to the overall experience our clients and families have while here. Volunteers provide instrumental support to our programs, special events, day-to-day support as well as providing a warm welcome to clients.

We have multiple opportunities available throughout the year. Below highlights a few ways you could be making a difference:

  • Therapeutic Recreation Programs: volunteers will have the opportunity to help children and youth during fun activities like our Jump & Jive or Wiggle/Giggle programs, our Bike or Volt Hockey programs and overall Youth Fitness programs.
  • EarlyOn Programs: The Centre has partnered with organizations that offer EarlyOn programming across Niagara. Volunteers can work 1-1 with children to facilitate their engagement in activities or provide assistance in creating resources for these programs. Volunteers will need access to reliable transportation to get to and from the EarlyOn sites across Niagara.
  • Preschool Speech & Language Programs: Volunteers can provide support and engage children with a focus on speech and language therapy.
  • Special Events: We have such exciting events throughout the year that provide fund raising support to the Centre. Volunteers can donate their time to support these events.
Please note the following:

  • Minimum age requirement to volunteer is 16 years.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Police Check will be required for all successful volunteer applicants (if over 18 years old).
  • Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination status or proof of a medical exemption.
  • Volunteers are required to make a weekly commitment for the program they are assigned to based on interest and need for the program.

If you are interested in learning more about each role and would like to apply for a volunteer position, please click here to complete the Volunteer Application Form

All volunteer applications received will be reviewed and based on the requirements and/or demands of the program(s), only those selected for an interview will be contacted. We truly appreciate your interest in wanting to help our children and youth shine!
