National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women
Today is a day for Canadians to recognize the plight faced by Indigenous women and work toward a future free of gender-based violence.
Despite accounting for less than 5 percent of Canada’s population, Indigenous women make up nearly a quarter of all homicide victims. This day marks an opportunity not only to raise awareness for the issue but to look into the causal factors of the ongoing tragedy.
