Student Placements

Niagara Children’s Centre offers student placements for a number of positions. We value the contributions students bring to the therapeutic and educational services provided to our children and families, and the opportunity to work with students to help them develop their professional capabilities and experience.

Post-Secondary Placement Requirements

Niagara Children’s Centre requires an Affiliation Agreement with the student’s educational institution before a placement can be considered. Please note we do not take placement requests directly from students. Placement requests must be initiated by your university placement coordinator or your graduate placement coordination agency.

To enquire about student placement opportunities please contact Human Resources, at HR@niagarachildrenscentre.com.

Post-Secondary Student Placement Opportunities

Post-secondary student placements will be considered from the following programs:
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech-Language Pathology
  • Communicative Disorders Assistant
  • Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant
  • Social Work
  • Recreation Therapy
  • Early Childhood Education Resource Consultants
  • Medical Students

Police Clearance

A satisfactory police clearance for vulnerable persons is required for all post-secondary student placements. Vulnerable Sector Checks are valid as of six months or less from the date the request was submitted.

Students will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to complete their placement with the Centre.
