Development Assistant (Summer Student)

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Development Assistant for the summer term. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the non-profit sector while making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support third-party event fundraisers, including coordination, promotion, and logistical assistance.
  • Procure and manage the online fundraising auction, including item solicitation, catalog creation, and bidder engagement.
  • Assist in the planning of the annual Superhero Run, including the creation of manuals, promotional materials, and event logistics.
  • Provide support for stewardship events and revenue-generating activities, including donor recognition and sponsorship coordination.

Requirements

  • Must have access to a car for transportation.
  • Eager to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excited to learn about the non-profit industry and contribute to the mission of Niagara Children's Centre.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Previous experience in event planning, fundraising, or non-profit work is an asset but not required.
