Marketing & Communications Assistant (Summer Student)

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Marketing and Communications Assistant for the summer term. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and community engagement while supporting the vital work of Niagara Children's Centre. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns and communication strategies to promote the services and initiatives of Niagara Children's Centre.
  • Create engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, to increase awareness and engagement with our organization.
  • Support the planning and coordination of special events, including fundraising events, community outreach activities, and awareness campaigns.
  • Assist with the design and production of marketing materials and digital assets.
  • Conduct research on best practices in marketing and communications, as well as trends in the non-profit sector, to inform strategy development and decision-making. 

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using social media management platforms an asset
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite an asset
  • Creative thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related fields is an asset but not required.
  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
