Spare an evening for Niagara Children’s Centre

Organization to host charity bowling event on May 8

St. Catharines, ON – The Children’s Centre is calling on the community to lace up a pair of bowling shoes, assemble a squad, and roll for a cause as they host Niagara Strikes Back at Parkway Social on Thursday, May 8.

Presented by BrokerLink Insurance, this family-friendly 10-pin bowling event is part of the Centre’s annual Help Kids Shine fundraiser, which relies on community donations throughout May to sustain programs and services for families. Funds raised also facilitate additional programs not covered by provincial government funding, such as recreation therapy, behavioral consultation services, family-to-family support programs, and aquatics.

“Bowling is an accessible experience that every family can enjoy,” said Pam Sharp, Director of Development at Niagara Children’s Centre. “For one night, families, friends, and coworkers can come together for a fun evening while supporting children and families in our community.”

Teams of four to six players can participate for $250 per team, which includes one-and-a-half hours of bowling, shoe rentals, and ample fun. Two time slots are available: 5 to 7 p.m. or 7 to 9 p.m., with five accessible lanes available per time slot to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.

BrokerLink Insurance has long supported the Centre and was thrilled to step up as a presenting sponsor of this year’s event.

“At BrokerLink, we believe in building stronger communities by supporting organizations that make a real difference,” shared Elizabeth Cicchino, Customer Experience Leader at BrokerLink. “Niagara Children’s Centre provides essential care, programs, and resources to children and families in our community, and we are proud to be part of their purpose.”

Last year, Niagara Children’s Centre provided rehabilitation and support services to more than 6,500 children and youth across the region with physical, developmental, and communicative delays. The Centre’s range of services includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language services.

“The funds raised through events like Niagara Strikes Back are crucial in ensuring children receive the support they need to thrive,” said Sharp. “Every participant and sponsor plays a role in helping us reach our fundraising goal and make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in our community.”

Participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spots. Team costumes, matching shirts, or fun bowling themes are welcome to ramp up the excitement. For those unable to attend, there are also opportunities to donate and support the campaign online.

Visit the event’s website to register or HelpKidsShine.ca to learn more about this year’s campaign and to make a donation that will ensure every child in Niagara has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
