Development of a strong grip is required for life skills such as cutting with a knife and holding eating utensils, manipulating coins, starting zippers and many more. Children with finger weakness may have difficulty maintaining a secure grip on a pencil, may have less endurance for writing or may not exert enough pressure when writing. The following activities focus on using the thumb and index fingers to grasp objects.
