Signature Events

Each year, Niagara Children’s Centre hosts fun, family-friendly community events that raise funds for the Centre. Learn more about each event by selecting from the list below.

Help Kids Shine

Help Kids Shine is our annual community campaign to raise funds and awareness in support of Niagara Children's Centre in partnership with Move 105.7, 97.7 HTZ-FM and 610 CKTB. Throughout the month of May, our campaign ambassadors, cabinet chairs, and Centre staff are featured in on-air radio interviews to showcase the amazing work and impact of services that take place at the Centre.

Superhero Run

Join us each fall for the annual Superhero Run in St. Catharines. This exciting, fun-filled event consists of a 5K run, 2.5K run/walk and a 1K fun run that features several activity stations including archery, axe throwing, mini putt, an obstacle course, and many more.

Participants dress up in their favourite superhero costumes and form teams to raise funds for the Centre. All participants receive a t-shirt, medal, swag bag and activity booklet to track their 1K activity station fun. Prizes are awarded for best dressed and the most funds raised!

Plasma Car Race

Join us each May for the Plasma Car Race, an exciting team racing event that raises funds towards the Help Kids Shine campaign.

Teams of four adults register online and fundraise for the Centre leading up to the race. On race day, each team will gather at the Gale Centre arena in Niagara Falls and compete in a relay race using plasma cars (a plasma car is a plastic ride-on child- and adult-friendly toy car designed for play).

No batteries, gears, or pedals; just sit with both feet on the footrests, turn the steering wheel and away you go!

This event is fun-filled and includes food, beverages, auction items, team photos as well as a live radio broadcast from Newstalk 610 CKTB. Prizes are awarded for first place, second place and best-dressed team! Teams are also encouraged to bring their own decorated plasma cars on race day, although the Centre will also provide plasma cars if you do not have one.
